Business Applications Analyst - Corporate Applications

ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.

We are currently looking for a Business Application Analyst for Corporate Applications in our Digital Information division, to translate business requirements to IT requirements and participate actively in the analysis, design, implementation, testing and support of requests in the current and new applications mainly focusing on Corporate (Enterprise) Applications and related processes but also contributing in other business applications if required. For Agile/Scrum product-related projects the Business Applications Analyst may undertake the role of the product owner.

What you will do:

  • Gather, analyse and design new business requirements for IS, evaluates requests, updates portfolio tracker and communicate request to application's vendors.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios, report defects and resolve if possible. Review and confirm successful completion of test scenarios and organize delivery of changes to production systems.
  • Propose application's enhancements to better meet business needs and provide related documentation.
  • Undertake the role of Product Owner in Agile Scum implementations, responsible for working with key users to understand their needs, contributing to the product vision, refining and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure those needs are met, and helping determine the overall direction of the product.
  • Define release plans, conduct Readiness Assessments and execute deployment plans as part of the Release Management & Service Introduction procedure.
  • Perform feasibility assessments, outline preferred solutions and implements changes.
  • Perform ticket classification and investigation under existing SLAs and proceed to resolution actions. Assess severity on incidents reported from Key Users to provide 1st level and 2nd level support for applications of your responsibility and escalate issues for 3rd level support to the Business Application Team Leader or vendors and then evaluate solutions provided.
  • Monitor data exchange/integration between applications of your duty and ensure integrity of data exchange between applications. Perform corrective actions in systems or data when required.
  • Conduct configuration/ parameterization on systems of responsibility for customizing purposes. Perform or propose tuning on systems resources for performance purposes.
  • Ensure proper documentation is provided for the applications in your duty
  • Maintain UAT systems and perform periodical update from production platforms ensuring that test environment landscape is provided for all applications.

What you will need in order to succeed:

  • A BSc in IT or Business-related disciplines.
  • 2-4 years of relevant working experience in IS Business Analysis, Design and support in Business Applications, preferably in the Utilities, Services or Telecom sectors
  • Relevant working experience in Agile/Scrum projects as a product owner
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner Certification (PSPO I) will be a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) will be a plus.
  • Experience in refining product backlogs, defining sprint goals, and managing sprint priorities
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Server and T-SQ, Azure DevOps, JIRA Software
  • Very good IS analysis and design skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical language into business terminology.
  • Good awareness of business processes implementations in corporate wide applications.
  • Good reporting skills
  • Prioritization and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
