What is Expert Backup Administration?
Expert Backup Administration is responsible for monitoring/managing the Jazz Enterprise backup solution along with IT Infrastructure domain.
What does Expert Backup Administration do?
- Should be strong knowledge on backup domain.
- Should have experience on backup integration/monitoring and day to day operations of backup.
- Hands on experience on both Tape Library and VTL based backup’s operations.
- Sound understanding of Database, Snapshots & File level backups will be preferred as that is needed for troubleshooting on failure as well as restore operations
- Should have knowledge on FS SAN & Backup Switches (Zoning & Administration)
- Should have knowledge and hands on experience on VMware Infrastructure integration with backup
- SAN storage experience will be a plus.
- Concepts should be clear on backup & Recovery design and strategy.
Day to Day Tasks:
- Daily backup monitoring and administration
- Troubleshooting and resolution of backup failure is the key responsibility.
- Ensure backup systems are up to date with the latest patches and updates.
- Develop and implement data recovery procedures.
- Perform regular recovery testing to ensure data can be restored quickly and accurately.
- Daily backup report and analysis
- Maintain backup storage and monitoring.
- Monitoring of FC fabric, SAN switches for Backup and storage
- Vendor’s Management

Requirements
- Must be graduate and strong experience on backup domain
- BE (CS, Electronics, Electrical, Telecoms)
- 2 – 5 Years of Relevant Experience
- Have sound knowledge of all Backup platforms, Storage Area terminologies Vmware infrastructure and practical knowledge.
