Your Team

The Risk and Internal Audit Team reports to the CFO, with dotted line accountability to the Chair of the Audit Committee. The team consists of a small number of experienced auditors, undertaking risk based and controls focused reviews, with priority given to the highest risk areas of the business.

Your Role

As the Head of Internal Audit and Risk, you will lead the internal audit function and oversee risk management strategies across the organisation. You’ll work alongside senior leadership and external auditors to ensure the company remains compliant, resilient, and prepared for the future. Your strategic insights will help protect our assets and reputation while shaping a risk-conscious culture throughout the organisation.

You will be responsible for:

Audit Leadership:

• Developing and executing a comprehensive internal audit plan targeting key financial, operational, and IT risks.
• Leading risk-based audits, investigations, and assessments, ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls and governance.

Risk Management:

• Designing and implementing an enterprise risk management (ERM) framework to identify, assess, and mitigate key risks.
• Providing clear, actionable risk reports to senior leadership and the board, ensuring proactive mitigation.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Communicating audit findings and risk assessments to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.
• Collaborating across departments, offering solutions to improve controls and operational risks.

Team Leadership & Development:

• Leading and mentoring a high-performing team, fostering growth and continuous improvement.
• Managing internal audit resources, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and budgetary control.

What we want to see

• Professional certifications such as ACCA, ACA, CIA (Certified Internal Auditor).
• Extensive experience in internal audit, risk management, or related roles, including leadership experience.
• Strong strategic thinking with a focus on problem-solving and analysis.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Familiarity with data analytics and risk/audit management software is a plus.
• Proactive and forward-thinking, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate emerging risks.
• Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
