Senior HR Advisor

Join us at UNLIMITED for an exciting role as a Senior HR Advisor. You'll be a vital part of our centralised HR team, providing invaluable support across the Unlimited family, focussing on TMW Unlimited.

As part of the HR team, you will be working closely with a dedicated HR Business Partner and supported by the wider team. This is a generalist role, providing technical as well as practical advice and guidance supporting line managers and employees across the employee life cycle.

You will provide sound technical and practical advice to line managers and employees on all aspects of people management and the end-to-end employee lifecycle.

This is a full and busy generalist role, your work will be varied, from performance management, succession planning and employee engagement through to employee relations.

We’re looking for you to be an experienced Senior HR Advisor, CIPD 5+, approachable, personable, flexible and used to working in a fast paced, every changing environment.

This is a 12month FTC (Mat Cover) starting January 2025

The Day to Day

  • Provide support and employment advice to employees as well as managers and directors as appropriate (giving individual coaching and training to managers when required)
  • Ensure that all aspects of HR are compliant with employment law and reflect best practice.
  • Conduct HR meetings on sickness absence, redundancy, investigations, grievances, performance management, and disciplinary issues, along with necessary paperwork and minute taking.
  • Apply sound personal judgment when handling sensitive or critical information, while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Manage flexible working requests and parental leave while developing policies to support new and existing parents.
  • Maintain the company’s commitment to equality and diversity.
  • Ensure the performance reviews are scheduled and completed on time, as well as providing guidance to line managers on how to conduct an effective performance review
  • Provide guidance to line managers on salary increases, promotions and progression planning
  • Communicate all monthly payroll changes to the company payroll provider.
  • Be systems savvy (HiBob, Workable, WorkBook, WorkDay MSOffice etc), a confident user and able to produce reports/spreadsheets as required.
  • Provide and take a pro-active approach to the analysis of the HR scorecard, including but not limited to staff turnover, recruitment and absenteeism figures etc
  • Effectively manage, mentor, support, and develop the HR Administrator aligned to the Division.

Requirements

Who will you be? 

  • Previous experience in a Senior HR Advisor role, whether in a standalone capacity or as part of a larger team, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Ideally, you will possess a CIPD Level 5 qualification (or higher) and have strong expertise in key employment processes, with the ability to manage them end-to-end while seeking assistance from the HR Business Partner as necessary.
  • You should be curious and open-minded, a decisive thinker capable of evaluating opportunities from various perspectives, quickly analysing information, and using it to provide recommendations.
  • Confident and credible, you will apply your judgment effectively and adapt to evolving requirements.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build professional relationships within the business.
  • You'll be an attentive listener, demonstrating emotional intelligence in all interactions to earn the respect and trust of others.
  • Courageous with the confidence to speak up skilfully, challenging others even when confronted with resistance or unfamiliar circumstances
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with the capability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • You'll have commercial and business acumen; you'll understand the people challenges in our industry and the organisation as a whole.
  • Strong administrative skills are crucial, with proficiency in all MS Office applications (PPT, Excel, Word, etc.) and a high level of confidence in using HR systems.
  • A proactive mindset is essential—willing to roll up your sleeves and engage fully to accomplish tasks, no matter what it takes.
  • As a collaborative team player, you will work closely with the HR Business Partners while also being ready to lead projects and coordinate with the broader HR and Recruitment team across Unlimited.
  • Flexibility is key, as no two days are the same in our world; adaptability to changing situations is necessary.
