Senior Manager - Port Architecture (Saudi Arabia)

Eram Talent is thrilled to announce an opening for a Senior Manager - Port Architecture in Saudi Arabia. We specialize in connecting talented professionals with leading organizations in the oil, gas, and infrastructure sectors. The Senior Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing design and engineering functions related to port projects, ensuring that all architectural solutions are both innovative and aligned with industry standards.

In this strategic role, you will lead a team dedicated to the planning and execution of port architecture, collaborating with stakeholders to drive projects from conception through to completion. Your expertise will guide best practices in design, safety, and sustainability while enhancing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review design packages to ensure compliance with the client's procedures and local and international engineering codes and standards as listed in the clients's guidance.
  • Review submissions for any deviation from the client’s Plan of Work and advise sectors and regions on submitting suitable requests for approval.
  • Review and support the update of the client’s architectural procedures, guidelines, and manuals based on operational requirements and the technical needs and strategies of internal departments and sectors.
  • Assist with the assessment criteria for the engagement of specialist technical companies.
  • Assist with the management of specialist companies and subject matter experts.
  • Perform technical evaluations and assist in commercial evaluations of technical services contracts.
  • Make presentations to internal sectors and departments as required.
  • Lead and participate in technical workshops for employees.
  • Support team members to effectively improve team performance.
  • Help create a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of architecture, urban planning, or similar.
  • Master’s degree in architecture preferred.
  • LEED accreditation or other sustainability certifications strongly encouraged.
  • Experience working in the Middle East a plus.
  • Professional licensing (ARB, SACAP NCARB, AIA, RIBA, etc.) preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in architectural design and design management.
  • Experience in the design and review of codes and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with various building typologies such as educational, industrial, civic, sport, leisure, recreational, residential, hospitality, cultural, aviation, etc.
  • Experience reviewing architectural and master plan assets ranging in complexity.
  • Experience in facility cost and function optimization.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, handling multiple project assignments, and meeting strict deadlines whilst ensuring quality output.
  • Demonstrated communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent technical writing skills and high proficiency in English (required).
  • Construction experience is preferred.
  • Highly collaborative, open mindset, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders within and outside the company.
  • Proven track record of leading and collaborating within teams with a solid ability to prioritize tasks in a highly dynamic environment.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the AIA/RIBA Plan of Work (most recent version).
  • Knowledge of the Saudi Building Code and other codes and standards authorities in KSA.
  • Knowledge of the IBC and associated standards.
  • Conversant with LEED sustainability design principles and requirements.
  • General knowledge and orientation in the latest trends in architecture, engineering, and technology.
  • General knowledge of the NFPA codes and architectural design for fire safety.
  • General knowledge of accessibility standards.
  • Knowledge of international standards, policies, codes, and procedures and the ability to transmit the same to others.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, SAP, Aconex, Autodesk, and other frequently used computer software.
