Compound Lead- Pineville, NC

We have an exciting opportunity to be a Lead for the Compound Department in our Extrusion Plant located in Pineville, NC! This position will lead initiatives such as product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to ensure the efficiency of raw material production.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Assist the Supervisor in oversight of department production and personnel.
- Check all production lines to ensure that production is running according to manufacturing specification at required rates and at the best possible quality.
- Ensure all batch sheets, run condition sheets, etc. are accurate for the product running and include operator initials.
- Start-up and/or assist with start-up of mixers, pelletizers, and grinders as needed.
- Perform silo dips as needed to supervise material levels.
- Direct operators as needed with mentorship from the Supervisor and/or Management staff in an effort to increase equipment utilization, minimize scrap, improve regrind usage, maintain outstanding quality and to maintain adequate housekeeping standards.
- Fulfill the requirements as specified in Blending Training document (D-MH-151), Pelletizer Training document (D-MH-152) and Grinding Training document (D-MH-150).
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to read, write and do advanced mathematics.
- Forklift experience is helpful.
Working Conditions
- Requires a high degree of mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, reaching, twisting, bending, climbing, and lifting to 50-75 lbs.
- Fast-paced environment where a considerable amount of sensory attention is required.
- Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat or cold, dust, noise levels and the use of forklift and sharp tools.
