Scrum Master

The primary responsibility of the role is to facilitate the development of multiple Scrum teams as well as improve their ways of working and agile mindset. The Scrum Master does this by helping everyone understand agile/scrum theory and practices, both within the Agile Teams (Squads) and the organization. The Scrum Master enables the teams to improve their practices within the scrum framework and nurtures the agile culture.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for running one or more Agile Teams (Squads) under the Scrum framework
  • Promote and support Agile and Scrum values, principles and practices throughout the company
  • Facilitate Scrum events (Planning, Daily, Refinement, Review and Retrospective) as requested or needed
  • Find techniques to effectively help the Product Owners arrange the Product Backlogs towards maximizing business value
  • Help the teams to stay focused on the Sprint goal, identify and understand impediments and blockers, propose ways to eliminate them
  • Motivate and coach the teams in self-organization, continuous improvement and cross-functionality
  • Support the teams to improve communications, build relationships and coordinate with other Omilia teams
  • Propose and support other Agile frameworks besides Scrum to enable and sustain high performing teams
  • Contribute to the advancement and improvement of Agile practices within the organization

Contribute actively and effectively as an integrated team member

  • Meet regularly with the line manager to review progress
  • Manage issue resolution and critically escalate
  • Work effectively with other teams, units, and departments
  • Manage issues with clarity and ensure effective information flow and team working
  • Support organization's other priority activities, when necessary
  • Act as an Omilia ambassador

Requirements

  • At least 2 years working experience as a Scrum Master to IT-oriented teams, preferably with multiple teams
  • At least 5 years of working experience in IT or related industry
  • Excellent knowledge of the Scrum framework, certification will be considered a plus
  • Strong communication, facilitation and coaching skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely across business and technical stakeholders
  • Team player with a growth mindset
  • Fluent in English, both oral and written

Nice to have

  • Scrum framework certifications (PSM I/II, PSPO)
  • Experience as an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Agile Delivery Lead or RTE in a scaled Agile environment will be considered a plus
